Build a Line Challenge B’ Part 1

I see you’ve met Sammy Kat, my sidekick. He is a jewel thief extraordinaire.

This is the first of 3 blog hops sponsored by    We are particpants in a  Master Class, facilitated by Brenda Sue Landsdowne.  Long before Brenda had her supply site on the internet she was the designer of a very successful line of jewelry.

Aren’t we the lucky ones?   We are learning the ins and outs of bringing a successful line to market from some one with first hand experience.

I love a journey.. whether it is a trip into the past thru research or a bona fide road trip.  This peek in to the past has brought me from Egypt to France, Italy,  all about Europe, a detour thru Hollywood, and back to France.

journeys.png  I have enjoyed wandering thru the history of  jewelry from many different eras and never left my living room.

Understanding and respecting  the techniques which have stood the test of time and how the old masters continue to influence modern styles is important.

We are learning the importance of a cohesive look to your line. I need to work on that. I’m pretty much all over the map.

The theme I chose for my line utilizes the Straw Bonnet brass stamping. This stamping always makes me smile, whether I see it as a sun bonnet, worn at a day at the beach,  as a head covering while tending a garden, or a finishing touch to the outfit worn by a county woman out on the town. For me this bonnet embodies the gladness of Pollyanna.   I hope I can bring about that feeling in my jewelry line.

No matter how far I stray, I always wind up back here, at the messy desk putting together things that make me happy.

Please won’t you continue the blog hop by clicking on the links below.

We would appreciate a comment on our blogs to know you were here.

Ain’t one of ’em a problem

complaining addiction

We all have challenges.  The path to our goals will have many obstacles facing us.

When we face our challenges and obstacles we do so with motivation. We get fired up, ready to do battle and inspired to defeat our foe.

If we view them as problems,  we are already defeated. To consider we have a problem is a negative mindset.

What if we were to find a gladness in every situation?  Pollyanna found her joy in the “glad game” She would find a gladness in every situation she encountered. Starting with a gift of crutches, when she had been hoping for a doll, Pollyanna, with her father’s help chooses to be glad for the crutches. Glad that she doesn’t need them.

Optimism and joyful thoughts are replacing my doubts and fears.

I choose to be glad for my distracted, chaotic mindset that takes me jumping from thought to thought… connecting things that no one else would likely see a connection in.

Tomorrow we start 2016 Build a Line Master Class Challenge.

Thank you to Donna Parry, for reminding me to let obstacles be an inspiration and motivation. Sometimes when you are distracted from your path you find the greatest accomplishments.

It is the Deficit in my Attention that has led me to my Art of  Distraction.
